Drummer’s Review
Drummer for one of the UK’s fastest rising Rock artists, the Kris Barras Band, Billy Hammett started drumming at 10 years old. Influenced by the sounds of John Bonham, Jojo Mayer, Nicko Mcbrain and Ray Luzier and his passion for a wide range of styles quickly led to performances with a wide variety of bands, from Rock and Punk to Reggae, Funk and Blues.
Initially studying under drummers such as Jason Bowld, Justin Welch and James Hester, Billy went on to attend BIMM Bristol achieving a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honours, leading to several UK and European tours plus live TV performances with high profile acts over the following years.
Now a full-time member of the Kris Barras Band, Billy has continued to tour across the UK and Europe including support slots with Arena-Rockers Black Stone Cherry and UK Rock legends Thunder, including performances at prestigious venues such as the Royal Albert Hall and Wembley Arena plus various festival appearances.
With free time In between tours, he can be found teaching Drums at his home studio in Barnstaple, Devon.
Billy is playing a Maple/Walnut Saturn Evolution in Gun Metal Grey, 22×16/10×7/12×8/16x14ft with Black Panther Persuader 14″x6.5″ Hammered Brass and Metallion 14″x5.5″ Brass Snares.
