Drummer’s Review
Drum-Ed are very proud to announce that the drumming legend Steve White will be joining the team from the beginning of 2021.
Steve has had an incredible career in the drumming world: joining The Style Council at 18; being the youngest player at Live Aid and, overall, spending 23 years as Paul Weller’s stick man. Since leaving Weller, Steve has played on thousands of sessions, founded various musical projects, including The Family Silver and Trio Valore, and become a world-renowned educator. As well as continuing his busy session work schedule, he now teaches private lessons both online and face-to-face and is a regular teacher at the prestigious Trinity Laban Music School in London.
Steve will bring his unique style and flair to Drum-Ed, accompanied by his unrivalled knowledge of technique and drum history, coupled with his warm and friendly personality and boundless enthusiasm for anything drum related.
Drum-Ed was officially launched earlier this year by founders Rich Wilson, of RAW teaching studios, and Mike Heaton of Embrace; it has grown from strength to strength since, with much praise received for their innovative and collaborative approach to presenting drum lessons. With a combination of Rich’s superior knowledge of multiple drumming styles and rudiments and Mike’s extensive experience of recording and playing live over the last 25 years. They have a team to rival any other drumming educational resource out there.
Here are a few words from Steve, Rich and Mike about the new team.
Steve White Quote
“I am delighted to be joining the team at Drum Ed. I’m really looking forward to growing the whole project into the future and sharing with you some of the exciting things we have planned for 2021 and beyond. Drum-Ed is poised to become one of the biggest and best sources of information and drum lessons online and I cant wait to get started”
Rich Wilson Quote
“I am so excited to have Steve on board with us. We are gaining a lot of traction, but now Drum-Ed will be a huge force in online drum education. Exciting times both for us as a business and the drumming community”
Mike Heaton Quote
“ It is such an honour to have Steve join the Drum-Ed team. He has been a drumming hero of mine since my teenage years and I’ve always found his playing inspirational, incredibly tasteful, jaw droppingly powerful and technical when needed. He will be a great addition to the team and I know our students will learn so much from his wealth of knowledge about every aspect of drumming”
